The pharmaceutical, health, care and medical sectors are widely diversified. From pharmaceuticals and vaccines to medical technology, cures and clinics. Both doctors and pharmaceutical companies can be found in this sector. Health is one of our greatest assets, which is why the medical sector is not as subject to economic fluctuations as other sectors. People need medicine and want to be advised quickly and well. Many companies also invest a lot of money in research and development.

Another part of this is care, which includes not only the elderly but also people with a disability or who are ill. Nursing care is becoming an increasingly important topic in Germany, because in our fast-moving society people tend to forget that it can happen that a person suddenly needs care. This raises questions such as nursing homes, hospitals, home care, nursing guides and the like.

In addition to training and studies as qualifications, this sector, especially the care sector, is characterised by lateral entrants and auxiliary staff. Since health and care are issues that affect people around the clock, shift work and special working hours are the norm here, with a few exceptions.
